• William Evanina

    Evanina served as Director of the United States National Counter Intelligence and Security Center (NCSC) under two Presidents.  As Director of the NCSC, he was the head of national counterintelligence for the United States Government.

    Previously, he was the Chief of the Counter Espionage Group for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).  He gained his initial law enforcement experience as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he led investigations in the violent crime unit, organized crime unit, bank robberies and counterintelligence divisions over a distinguished 20 year career at the FBI.

  • Patrick Westerhaus

    As a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Westerhaus has led investigations into corporate fraud, government fraud, cyber enabled fraud, public corruption, terrorism and espionage. 

    As a Senior Manager in the FBI’s Cyber Division, he developed an investigative approach to reveal a new CNE technique utilized by bad actors to steal corporate and market information.  In additional, he developed an analytical platform to monitor and investigate criminal activity in the Bitcoin blockchain and network, leading to the development of the Vitual Currency Team within the U.S. Government’s National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force (NCIJFT.)

  • Tim Newberry

    For 20 years, Newberry has focused on building partnerships within the Washington, D.C. ecosystem of cybersecurity entrepreneurs, including founding BlackHorse Solutions in 2017. 

    Before working the private sector, Newberry spent eight years on active duty as a Naval Officer in the submarine community as a nuclear engineer.  His U.S. Navy time included teaching at the Naval Academy, submarine patrols in the Pacific, and deployment to Iraq. 

    He is currently a Senior Fellow at the McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security at Auburn University. 

  • Forrest Jones

    Jones is co-founder of Sojourn Consulting, providing strategic guidance on issues ranging from anti-money laundering, regulatory compliance and counter threat finance. 

    Previously, as an executive with Deloitte, Jones worked with clients to manage enterprise risk, executive financial investigations, and design international market penetration strategies.

    A former officer in the United States Marine Corps, Jones developed and executed strategies as a Para-Military Case Officer at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

  • Sarah Schoenfelder

    Schoenfelder is co-founder of Sojourn Consulting where she leads teams focused on forensic accounting and anti-money laundering investigations.

    Previously, as senior manager in the forensic practice of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, Schoenfelder led teams on a multi-tiered targeting support and counter threat finance analysis working with the Department of Defense, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Homeland Security. 

    Schoenfelder is Certified as a Public Accountant, Fraud Examiner and Financial Forensics Examiner.

  • John Lenkart

    Lenkart brings over 25 years of federal law enforcement, counterintelligence and military operations to Metasafe Alliance.

    As a former Senior Executive in the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Lenkart led national programs to mitigate operational and organizational supply chain risks, as well as developing strategies to counter national security threats in critical commercial sectors regarding hostile nation-state activity.  He is created the Hybrid Threat Center, an innovative government approach to develop and collect strategic intelligence on significant threats to U.S. critical infrastructure.  

     Lenkart is a Homeland Protection Fellow at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

  • Ross Guieb

    Guieb is the Executive Director for the Geroge H.W. Bush Combat Development Complex at Texas A&M University where he provides oversight of Department of Defense technologies from the lab to the field. 

    Guieb retired as a Colonel in 2020 after serving nearly 30 years in the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit (x3) and Bronze Star (x3) for his service in combat.

  • Charles Segars

    Segars is a founding partner of OPSEC Alliance, a safety, security and crisis communication firm providing solutions to organizations and facilities worldwide.

    He specializes in AI national security-related technology, organizational threat assessment, protection and response logistics. He has trained law enforcement agencies, academic institutions, as well as private and public companies, to better identify and protect their personnel and facilities from a myriad of physical and cyber threats.

    Segars has served as an Advance Team leader for the Office of the President and Vice President of the United States of America since 2008 and is a 20-year law enforcement veteran and continues to serve as a sworn Reserve Deputy Sheriff in Los Angeles County. Over his continuing career he has had assignments within the Emergency Operations Bureau, Dignitary Protection Unit, Major Crimes Bureau, and the Threat Interdiction Unit.

  • Greg Demeter

    Demeter (MBA, CFE) is a 25 year New Jersey State Trooper and FBI National Academy graduate with extensive experience collaborating in task force environments with multiple agencies, including the FBI and NYPD. Greg managed threat investigations for state level government executives and has overseen multiple inter-agency projects.

  • Rich Gross

    Expertise in national security law & policy; operational law; counterterrorism & special operations. Rich served in the U.S. Army as a judge advocate in a number of critical legal advisor and leadership positions, to include several with special operations units such as the 1st Special Operational Detachment-Delta (Airborne) and the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). Rich was also the senior legal advisor for US Central Command (CENTCOM), the combatant command responsible for the entire Middle East, where he advised the commander, General Jim Mattis, and his staff. Rich culminated his military career serving 4 years as the chief legal counsel to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), General Marty Dempsey.

    While the Legal Counsel to the CJCS, Rich was the senior military member of the interagency lawyers’ group, which advised the National Security Council and cabinet-level officials on critical national security issues. He testified at multiple hearings and briefings for Congressional oversight committees, to include the Senate Armed Services Committee and the House Armed Services Committee.

    Rich is a sought-after public speaker and has given lectures, taught classes, and participated in panels at several law schools, to include Harvard, Yale, the University of Virginia, Columbia University, Georgetown, and Vanderbilt.

  • Pete Selfridge

    Selfridge is the Global Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy at SAP, the German-based multinational software company. In this role, Peter is responsible for promoting technological transformation in the public sector and the positive role played by digital technologies in addressing economic and societal challenges around the world.

    Selfridge previously served as Ambassador and the U.S. Chief of Protocol during the second term of the Obama Administration where he acted as the President’s representative to the foreign diplomatic corps posted in Washington, D.C. Earlier, he served as President Obama’s Advance and Operations Director, a position he also managed for Vice President Biden during the first two years of the Obama Administration. Selfridge began his career in Washington, D.C. as a staff member for U.S. Senator Tom Harkin.

  • Elle Lynch

    Elle Lynch has been on founding cyber and bio security start ups where she has facilitated partnerships with brand name companies and government entities in North America and Europe.

    Today, Lynch is the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Gravel Road Data Labs where she protects DOD clients from state-sponsored attacks and is overseeing the delivery and positioning of the next generation of post-quantum proof encryption.

    Elle is a graduate of the University of King’s College in Canada where she received a combined Honor’s BA in Contemporary Philosophy and English. She also has an MA in English (Holocaust, PTSD and Trauma Philosophy) from the University of Guelph.
